Journalism - Broadcast at Sheridan College is now full for September 2009, but we are looking for the best and brightest to join our team next fall. Journalism Broadcast is a two-year diploma program that provides students with the necessary skills to succeed in the rapidly expanding journalism industry. Emphasis is placed on developing strong writing and research skills, producing sound and images, and honing the craft of storytelling. The program prepares graduates to work with a range of technologies. Additionally, graduates of the program will appreciate the role of journalism in society, the need for professional ethics, the impact of media convergence, and the increasing range of employment opportunities in non-traditional areas. Go to www.sheridaninstitute.ca for information on how to apply. You can also check out our student newsroom website, www.eyeonsheridan.com.

  • I am in the program and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made! The Journalism New Media program teaches you everything you need to know to be sustainable in the media and television broadcasting industry. I HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone interested in journalism.

  • nicneheli: determination is fine, but the reality is there is very little

jobs that pay a living wage for graduates. Prospective students

don't believe Sheridan's hype! Save your hard earned money

    and time elsewhere!

  • @nicneheli Hi there, received your email but accidentally erased it...sorry! I'm the program co-ordinator. If you'd like to talk to some of our current students come on out to Discover Sheridan this weekend. April 30th, 10-11am at the Trafalgar Campus. You can even take a turn at the anchor desk :)

  • @FidelCastro128 Actually we don't :) We are very frank about how tough it is to get a job, and how hard you will have to work -- but after only three years we have students working in a variety of jobs at multiple networks. It really comes down to how determined you are to work in the industry.

  • @emisaralynn Come to Sheridan! We just had our awards show on Friday and students who are now working at Citytv, CHCH, The Score, CTV, CBS in South Carolina, and in Australia all took part in handing out awards. Our program is hands on--and students get jobs as a result.

  • I have an offer of admission, I dont know whether to take it or not! I also have an offer from Mohawk for print and broadcast, and television and communications media..
