  • Very nice edison suitcase home. I believe that banner decal on the lid would place this phonograph at 1898. I have never heard a brown wax recording with a woman singer. Sounds good.

    Thanks

  • Piano part at the end of the recording was nice. Very interesting to hear that early a recording of piano.

  • ok... LOL i cannot stop laughing. but for real though this is a great piece of history you are SO lucky to have these waxz

  • She sang beautifully!!!

  • It sounds on pitch to me, standard speed later was about 154 rpm so 120 should be right. I love the old saloon piano sound on these brown wax records. Definitely a woman even if she does sound soused. I hear the announcement as "Miss May Kelso." Women didnt make a lot of records in the 1890s, they were harder to record.

  • Are you playing that at 120 rpm? Remember the brown wax cylinders were slower than the moulded ones.

  • thank you
