The Perks of White Privilege

Since controversy loves company... This is the recut version of my inquiry into what some call "White Privilege. Though I'd love to think the world is colorblind... but the truth is that we've not reached that place yet. So, White Privilege, Does such a thing exist? Do people subscribe to this way of thinking?

Can it be obliterated? Does it have to be?

I think discourse is the key to understanding and I desperately want to understand.

@Oliverde04 Yes. In 1965 it was 90% white, about as white as China is Chinese today or as black as Zimbabwe is today, as white as Europe is today,etc. Now it is much less but still majority white.

Yes, class matters, too, of course. There are many different types of privilege.

OBVIOUSLY LIFE IS EASIER IF YOU'RE A STRAIGHT, WHITE, ABLE, CIS-MAN OF UPPER OR MIDDLE CLASS.

And in America, this is pretty much viewed as the default. And theirs is definitely the default point of view. Anyone else must be othered.

As a white man, I search and live the world around me without looking for excuses that would allow me to be a perpetual loser like muds. All the fact based sexism in the world has not discouraged most men from getting a mate, job, children, exploring space, flying airplanes and inventing the language and computer that you use to defend lazy muds.

@kevind159 Race profiling, gender profiling and age profiling are all good for us honest people. If you cast your line where the fish bite, you'll catch more fish, which is why so many young Black males are incarcerated. If you're a young Black man who doesn't break the law, then let them search, because they won't find anything. I likewise harbour no ill feelings towards the police for being sensibly suspicious of young males. I am not likely at all to be in possession of contraband.
