I took the head off the Briggs, it was covered with tar. I added a cyclone seperator which has been amazing and added a filter with various materials in the filter to see which material seems to be the most effective. This run was for 1 hour and I will be taking the head off the briggs again to see the effects.

  • Good work.

It is nice to see that we are dealing with the same problems. Tar.

    Keep up the good work

  • Yep, Tar is a pain in the backside. The rest of it is pretty sweet. Even with the new filter, too much is still getting through. I think my next filter is going to be larger with a lower velocity but finer filtering elements. Cool mower by the way.

  • well done.

  • please help with adivece on my new project, watch my video wood gasifier...

  • can you take some picture of inside of you unit?? I did one with a 5 gallon and it does good, but i would like to see how you did yours! thanks

  • Did you design the gasifier yourself, or did you get the plans from elsewhere? I'm looking to find plans for a similar size gasifier to run a small generator set.

Keep up the good work :)

  • hmm, do you think that large bubbles would still have a possibility of still carying on tar in the bubble still under the water? That does sound good idea, maybe a bubble splitter or airstone would make smaller bubbles to foam all the tar into the water, thanks for your help.

    Ben

  • you all should try a water style filter. I believe that is the plan for the Mother Earth System not sure on that though. Basicly i guess you just put a tube under water in a sealed jug and draw the vapor off the top. Change the water from time to time.
