Replacing the Light Tunnel on Your DLP - Eliminate the Shadows

This video shows how I replaced the Light Tunnel on my Samsung DLP. My TV had some shadows appear on the side. From other sources, I learned the shadows can appear on any edge of the TV, and it's caused by a defective Light Tunnel. Once I purchased the new Light Tunnel, I saved myself $200 by installing it myself! I followed Samsung's service bulleting #ASC20070320001.

This is the first time I open up my TV. I fixed the problem, so I hope this helps!

Dont ever touch the adjustment screws! U don't need to loose them to replace light tunnel! It's hard to adjust!

Samsung will repair for free or reimburse any money u spent to repair this

I have had nothing but issues with my Samsung for the last 4 months. New lamp, new color wheel and now for the last 4weeks thin white vertical lines running across the screen an inch apart.

Any ideas?

i have a shadow on my samsung tv so i called them they said its going to be $500 plus tax for parts and labor hey wanna fix my tv

@mikewm9v Sure one could replace the light engine, but at a much higher cost. The light tunnel takes less than 30 min to replace. At least the ones I did took less than 30 min..

whats a shadow?

I have a dlp and get sploches of wrong colors such a green on the picture. Is that a problem with the wheel or the tunnel.
