Che Rhymefest Smith introduce History: GERALDINE SMITH 102.3 fm "A Pleasant Encounter"

Geraldine Smith, was the first woman sentenced to death in Illinois since the state's death penalty law was re-enacted in 1977.

In 1991, at the age of 42, joined, as the
Chicago Sun-Times titled, an "exclusive sorority" of 34 women, who sat on Death Rows across the United States, at that time.

Geraldine Smith, raised on the West side of Chicago, went to prison in 1987, and, wrongfully accused,
spent 19 years. Represented by a corrupt lawyer, Geraldine Smith was indicted and charged with "conspiracy to commit murder".

The Free Geraldine Smith Coalition, was formed in 1996 to help apply public pressure to get her death sentence overturned. Geraldine Smith was originally suppose to be put to death May 20, 1990. She spent seven years on death row, before having her death row sentence vacated by The Supreme Court, July 26 1997.

Geraldine Smith was freed prison February 22, 2008.

Geraldine Smith is now:
Account Executive for Crawford Broadcasting Company radio stations:
Power 92.3 FM, Soul 106.3 FM and WYCA 102.3 FM
and is host of her own radio talk show
"A Pleasant Encounter" on WYCA 102.3 FM

Geraldine Smith, CEO of Life Builders Inc,
has authorized access to every prison across the United States as she minister & motivational speaker to women prisoners as well as provide them sanitary heath wellness gift bags, allow with Beverly Davis
& Prosperity House.

Geraldine Smith works with Dwayne Wade's mother, Pastor Jolinda Wade, whom she met while serving her prison sentence, and The Wade's World Foundation. Geraldine Smith is a promoter of Pastor Jolinda Wade book new book "Divine Grace". Pastor Jolinda Wade also is a WYCA 102.3 FM hos radio talk show host
and a host of Gospel Xpress 1570-AM.

Geraldine Smith was invited by Proviso East High School in 2009 to speak at:
Girl Talk Conference "From Girlhood 2 Womanhood"

I saw this woman speak a couple of days ago and honestly I can say, my life will never be the same. She is a mighty woman of God! She is sooo strong! She is KEPT... 19 years in prison and ... acquitted of all charges and free after 7 years on Death Row... amazing! God Bless you
