hey why does your truck sound like a Harley? lol

@MtnGroveBluegrass I think that's what he was saying amigo. He's exactly right that the D-35 is 1/4" bracing and the D-28 is 5/16". The "HD" versions are scalloped.
Great music and great playing!

That's a great looking old D-35 man, I love the color of the top. Best wishes.

I liked your video a lot! I must say however that you need to seat your endpin on the D-35 - otherwise you run a real risk of it cracking the guitar. (don't ask me how I know...)
-
we try to be easy with them like i wouldnt just throw it around but both of these guitars get there use.
-
LOL I know you wouldnt do anything to hurt them guitars !
But yes if Im going to get something it'd have to be fairly good. I once had a guitar that the neck was weakened it was awfuly hard work to play. I named it "the cheese grater" It destroyed yer fingers :D
-
well in that case i better burn mine and start playing one made from cardboard lol
everyone deserves to have whatever guitar they want despite skill level

Hmm wow ok , i'm not sure i'm good enough to warrent buying anything more than the cheapest model in that case.. Probably not even that .. lol One day ...... cheers Mgb :D
Well, since you brought it up ... the bracing on the D-35 and the HD-28 are both Martins standard "X" bracing pattern. The difference is that the D-35 has 1/4" thick bracing and is not "scalloped" .. The HD-28 had 5/16" thick bracing and IS scalloped. The 1/4" bracing works a bit better for fingerpicking and a lighter touch.. The HD-28 stands up well to a flatpick .. a bit better than a D-35..
Both of them are wonderful guitars. Your lucky to have them in the family.
