  • How many cubic feet did you fill? and how many gallons did it take?

  • @cheryldenise36 10 gallons of 2 lb foam

  • Can I use "Great Stuff' for this process?

  • @cheryldenise36

No, that stuff is not the same. I have also read somewhere that is holds water more. Plus it is less expensive to buy it in two part.

  • Buy a milwaukee drill, dewalt is nothing more than a black and decker motor inside a prettier shell. Also as you drill at the end, drill at an angle then turn your drill sideways, this will pop the core before it ever has a chance to fall. Very cool video, I've really been wondering what a refoam would take, glad you posted it.

  • @brewnonymous

I have owned them all, and they are all junk. Through the years they have all been cheapened up so much to make them affordable. There is no pro grade now. I go through drills one a year in my job.

  • Save those mushroom tops, you can toss them into the area you want foamed, on the next boat project.

  • @FriscoJarretts Yep, one drill a year used daily...good deal for not toting a cord don't you think?

  • @brewnonymous Milwaukee is a Taiwanese multinational conglomerate. They're owned by TTI. DeWalt "currently" is probably better. The drill in the video is an 18V NiCad hammer drill. If he's using it in the wrong gear, he'll burn up batteries. My guess is, the batteries are just done. They should last just fine however, he did state that it's hot. In heat, they'll fail more quickly.

  • Hmmm. Ok, cool. I have a 1977 Bonito 17 foot, and I do not know what foam they used but it does NOT look like what you used. Yours looked light weight and plastic like. What's in my boat now is like brown orange, and yes, seems like it would soak in water. Maybe it IS great stuff :) but I guess I will follow J's advice and get it out and use the two part. Looks fun anyway to watch it grow like a volcano erupting so what the heck :) Thanks again. Great videos

  • Great video, I will be doing this to my boat very soon. Sounds like the best way to do it would be a rear pour and then a front pour for each cavity. Good stuff!

  • Ryobi lithium!!.I use it every day for over two years..Best for the money...There all black and decker other than Milwaukee which iSux too
