  • Well, of course that Ivory is very good material to carve on & tHE ARTIST CAN SHOW THEIR SKILLS MUCH BHETTER ON IVORY THAN ON WOOD.

    As well as that the Ivory Netsuke was a symbol of status -so usally the artist put his hurt in the Ivory pieces.

  • Wonderful to look at these netsuke up close. Good narration too.

  • In the 1980s there were lots of netsuke for sale in stores along Central Park South in New York City. I didn't know what they were but found them very interesting, so small and so detailed.
