Hazel Grian's "Milky's Way" Stop Animation Short Film

This is great! And she used Goldfrapp's music which worked perfectly with it. This is once again a film by Hazel Grian, an amazingly talented stop animator who perhaps might be known best for her work with Portishead, that can be seen on the live DVD.

Milky's Way
This beautiful psychedelic stop-frame animation tells the tale of the unborn baby Milky whose existence is totally changed when her mother goes into labour in an Indian restaurant! When her cosy little house is destroyed by a curry and rice monsoon, Milky, accompanied by her side-kick, her umbilical cord, known as Worm, puts on her cowboy hat, jumps on her Harley-style trike and sets off on her amazing journey towards birth. Brief bio on Hazel: I am the Creative Director of Licorice Film based in Bristol, making viral marketing movies for the internet and mobile phones. I've been making shorts for over ten years including for bands such as Portishead and award winning shorts including "Lou-Lou Lives Here" for the UK Film Council. My animated short "Baby-Cue" was named by The Simpson's creator Matt Groening as in his top ten all time favourites. Originally from Lancashire, I'm also a writer having written for BBC Radio as well as for film. I've also been a comedy actress for about 15 years and I'm still only 23!

I have been a fan of baby-que and this vid since I saw it years ago. I will say it is absolutely wonderfully odd and weird...as I am. Hazel Grian is a pioneer in my books. I love her stop motion animation as it emotes such feeling as long as you are able to understand it. Then with her short relation with portishead is like the icing on the cake.
