Jacobus Gallus Carniolus (Jacob Handl or Jacob Handl-Gallus) (July 3, 1550 July 18, 1591) was a late Renaissance composer of Slovene origin. Born in what is today Carniola, part of Slovenia, then part of the Habsburg Holy Roman Empire, he lived and worked in Moravia and Bohemia during the last decade of his life.
