Three of the most delighful, lovable foster kittens I've ever had - Ophelia, Aida and Oscar Wilde came to me from the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter. They've been a total joy to care for, and my 11 pound chihuahua-dachschund mix Truffles has nominated herself kitten co-mom.

I hope this video gives you sense of how lovely these kittens are- they deserve wonderful forever homes where they can grow up to be the splendid cats they are. These three came from a litter of 6 that were found near Safeway in Scotts Valley. I don't think that they were abandoned long, because I've fostered other feral kittens and these kitties don't act like they've ever known hard times.

Hands down the easiest batch I've ever cared for!

Here are some descriptions of them:

Ophelia (white flame-point dmh) - This little kitten is unbelievably cuddly, soft and sweet. She is a purring-machine! With her gentle flame-point coloring, her super-soft fur and her sapphire eyes, she is on her way to becoming an spectacularly elegant lady cat one day, but for now she is still a white cotton puff-ball that still loves jumping in the air, playing with toy mice, and climbing up the side of my ottoman and bed. She is quite the comedian and crazy damsel at times, breaking into tiny hops, skips, and runs out of nowhere. Other times, she enjoys sitting quiet and cozy in my lap, and purring away. She also enjoys bellyrubs, stalking and pouncing on toes (no claws involved). Ophelia and her siblings do not exhibit any fear, and are all fine with my dog. Ophelia eats both dry and wet food, and is litterbox perfect.

Aida (cream and buff dsh) - A nimble and ever-ready explorer, Aida is training to be a top-notch huntress and is the quickest and most curious and coordinated of her siblings. She is sleek, lithe, has a nice little purr motor, loves attention, and both makes eye contact and meows to communicate her needs ("I want to be picked up"... "Let me into the bedroom!"... "Pet me!!"...."Food!!"...). She is always the first and quickest to come out to greet you and is also the most curious about my dog Truffles and constantly walks up to Truffles and tries to play. At the time of writing this, Aida's eyes seem to be turning from blue to green. She is fearless, litterbox perfect, and extremely intelligent, but every once in a while she becomes a baby kitten and starts crying for her mom, and looks for something to suckle, for comfort. Her favorite games are chasing toy mice on a lead, climbing up the sides of things and batting at little crumpled foil balls. She likes to climb up my arm and sit on my shoulder. Aida eats both dry and wet food, and is litterbox perfect.

Oscar Wilde (cream and buff dsh) - A total sweetheart, Oscar is on his way to becoming quite a handsome gentleman one day. He sometimes plays and wrestles with Ophelia and Aida, or he'll rather sit on the sidelines and just watch the action and take a nap. Oscar is also a gentleman, and usually lets his sisters eat first. He is the largest of his siblings, with amazing crystalline blue eyes. He loves belly rubs, all kinds of rubs, and is very calm and affectionate. When my brother brought his 4 month pug puppy Jasmine over for a visit, Oscar enjoyed getting a lot of licks from Jasmine. Oscar eats dry and wet food and is litterbox perfect.
