Yellowhammer song

A Yellowhammer chats to its mate in the woods one evening, with a Willow Warbler and Chaffinch to name a couple of the others in the background. According to some books the Yellowhammer song is supposed to sound like 'a little bit of bread and no cheese'. I can kind of understand that but its not what I would have thought of immediatly!

I always enjoy seeing and hearing these little dudes. Their colouring reminds me of the banana and caramel sweets I used to eat as a kid. Sad to see they have RSPB Red status, though luckily, they are numerous where I live in West Lancashire.
