@byron1468 I looked up the lyrics on the HOMR website before I got the album and I thought they were really cool. And thankfully the lyrics are included in the album booklet. I think it would've been really cool if they had made a video for this song.

@nylerobin Yeah! I love "Beggar on a Beach of Gold" I love the whole album. There is no way I cab just listen to one song. Recently I have really been listening to "House of manty rooms" a lot. It is really good. It is actually more of a poem than anything. You should look up the lyrics and just read them. It is really cool!

@byron1468 I'm from America actually, and some of my other favorite bands are Genesis, The Beatles, The Jacksons, among others. I think what Mike was trying to do with "Rewired" was make it out to be a MATM album as well as another Paul solo album since he was the only original lead singer left. I like the "Beggar..." album a lot as well, especially "Mea Culpa", "Web Of Lies" and "Plain & Simple" but the whole album from start to finish is awesome.

@nylerobin You got to hear "Smallcreep's Day" it is really good. Yeah, I prefer the two pauls as well. I like Paul Young the best. I thought that it was kind of stupid that Rewired said "Mike and The Mechanics" featuring paul carrack. Is he to good to be a Mechanic now? The 1999 album is my least favorite. I think Beggar on a beach of gold is my favorite record. I really like the new one though, I hope they make another one. What other bands do you like. Are you from England?

@byron1468 I've only heard a couple of songs from the "Acting Very Strange" album, namely "Maxine" and "Halfway There", and I thought that they were pretty cool. Mike has always admitted that he never felt that he was a great singer so when it came time to get the Mechanics up and running, he got two awesome singers in Paul Carrack and Paul Young. I like the new lineup as well but my favorite era of MATM has always been with both Pauls.

My #1 favorite is A-ha, my #2 is The Alan Parsons Project, and #3 is Mike and The Mechanics. Have you listened to the Mike Rutherford solo albums? They are really good. There are two. "Smallcreep's Day" 1980 and "Acting Very Strange" 1982. Some guy I don't know does the lead vocals for "smallcreep's day" and Mike Rutherford does the lead vocals for "Acting Very Strange" He is not really a good singer, but there are good back up singers to help his voice

@nylerobin I always knew that they sang the living years. But it all started in the spring of 2009. I was at a resturaunt near Waterloo IA visiting my Great Aunt, and I heard "All I need is a Miracle" Playing. I thought "I heard this song before! I wonder what band this is" Later I looked it up and I saw that it was "Mike and The Mechanics" I got the album that summer and I listened to it a lot. Then Eventually I got all their albums. They are my 3rd favorite band

@byron1468 Actually have Genesis to thank for that because in one of their box sets with the "Invisible Touch" album, there was an interview with the group in which their solo careers were discussed and with Mike, they showed a clip of the "All I Need Is A Miracle" video and I really liked it so I looked up the group, got their albums and have been hooked ever since. I know I heard "The Living Years" before, like years ago. But "Nobody's Perfect" is my favorite song and video from MATM.
