I don't like to grind until I hit disc 2 or so. I don't skip fights really in the first disc, so by the time Aeris dies in the forgotten city, and disc 2 starts, I'm usually around level 40.. but once disc 2 starts... it's all about leveling up materias since by then you have some nice double growth weapons/armor. I don't finish FF7 unless I'm sitting at level 99, with as much materia mastered as possible, and I certainly don't call it quits unless the weapons are taking dirt naps :). Best part.

My version must be different, or something.. Like maybe the person who did the mods I'm running tweaked the difficulty. I mean I'm playing through it again now for the first time in YEARS, but Jenova life when I fought her was pretty much only susceptible to earth type hits. Physical hits did not do anything to her, limit breaks included. I pretty much relied on rank 2 earth spells, and dispeling her reflect whenever she used it. Then again, I certainly was not this high level. I was like lvl 38

Hm, I never thought to use beta on jenova-life. I do have it, I've always gotten it at like the earliest level possible(like around level 15 or so...and basically you're pretty much banking on the zolom missing after he casts beta, and having poison on him, and a limit break ready to fire as soon as zolom finishes casting beta...very tricky..and it will take you a few times, unless you level up to around level 20, than it's pretty easy to get). I always used earth spells for this jenova fight.

Ah yeah, you're using the completely new remixed tracks. Not a fan of these. I'm using the OSTRemastered pack, which still stays true to the original tracks, with some really minor tweaks. Such as mastering, and in Mp3 forum. There are some differences in the scores, but it's hard to tell if you haven't played the game in years I'd say. They sound so much better though.

This is the original that's been modded. This is how my PC version looks. Except I'm not sure if you're using the original playstation tracks dubbed in over the midi, or the remixed OST tracks that are in .ogg forum(meaning they loop seemlessly). Anyway, yea.. it makes the game look completely new. I mean, it still shows it's age. It doesn't automatically make it appear to be like a Playstation 2 game, but it definitely looks like it was made 2-3 years later or so. HIGHLY suggest this.
