In the fall of 1985, the Puzzling Evidence Network was sending a pirate television signal out across the western US. One of the program lines was a series on up-and-coming religious cults, which were very popular at the time. Bluette LeBeau, brave girl reporter, was investigating the mysterious deaths of witnesses to the assassination of J R "Bob" Dobbs, the salesman diety of this group. All of these people would quickly die after being interviewed by her, so the shockingly predictable results should have surprised no one. As for the figure we now see at "Ask Dr Hal" and other presentations, it is said that Dr Hal had a closet full of carefully constructed, life-like Dr Hal robots, resembling him down to the smallest cuticle, that continue his good works for his church, now and forever. One of these robots can also be heard with us on Puzzling Evidence, on KPFA.org.
Oh, Dr. Kliener.

Nearly a quarter Century Later, this is so very very "Meta" as the Man who killed J.R. "BOB" Dobbs has on his show the man closest to "BOB" when "BOB" was shot, only to die mysteriously at the end of the interview. And who is that "really" parading around as Dr. Hal this days? A Dr. Hal Robot? A Time Travel Clone? A Tlelaxu Ghola of Dr. Hal? Expiring Minds wanna know...before they two expire watching PuzzlingEvidence TV
