For me I found better. It is called a shipping container. I got one delivered that is 40 foot by 9 foot high for 2500. Very strong and heavy than one of these. but tons of space.

Looking at prefab sheds too as for quality I would add my own touch for sure like insulation and weather protectors. I have basic to moderate shop skills and I know I could add on better than I can from scratch. Good luck!

@LeonRFpoa What? dude come on, RV are cheaper then dirt, I have two friends that picked up fema trailers for $3000 a piece! Craigslist should have what your looking for, build a shed over it and it will last forever, The problem with RV's is people leave them out in the weather for years at a time and think they are just going to be fine when they jump in them to use, meanwhile rats, freezes and the sun have made life hell, Keep it in a shed and no problems. Just go rid of a 30 year old one!

@jdietz730 really. That's good to know
You can build an earth bag home for hundreds. If you go cob, even less. We see FLARE on city choppers so we know they will use FLARE in the woods after SHTF. Earth bag or cob blocks body heat signatures. Just make sure to have a wild grass roof to complete the package.

@MinisterQuietBuck We're all looking for a way out of the system, your idea is the ideal one. Me myself- I'm aiming at an earthship or something like you suggest. God help me I'll see it done, just you wait and see. God bless brother and thanks for the encouragement. I see eye to eye with you on that.

I thought about this myself, but I think the chipboard has some off-gassing issues, can't remember. But after you buy it and finish it off, it would probably be about double the cost. I think finding an RV for 6k may be easier, but it depends on where you live.

@heartlandcountrygirl You are right, I was steered away from these recently. If nothing else they will do but they got bad deterioration issues like you said.

LOL,...i'm with ya LeonRFpoa,...our modern society considers this a shed, but a shed in a first world country could be a nice li'l flat in a third world,....reminds me of my childhood days, over in the foothills(30 ft. high)of Behind the Rocks, my friends and me dug this cool underground fort, covered it with cardboard and then a layer of dirt and presto, it was really neato! Well, anyways for se utah hillbillys,....hehehe!! =D
