Calling All Canadians

I'm fed up with the media, private interest, and the generally ignorant trying to tell me if socialized/universal health care is good or bad. So, I'm going straight to the source to ask you (anyone living in a country with socialized health care) if it works and how well.

And if you're not from a country with socialized health care, don't pretend like you have all the answers, leave it to those who have experienced it.

I am canadian & am satisfied with our health care system.. we pay taxes but not nearly what you americans pay for it (private)on top of the deductables etc.knowing that if we are ever sick, no matter how much or little we have we are taken care of is a big weight off our shoulders. No canadian would trade our system for yours & if our govt ever tried thay would have a rebellion on their hands...btw go to my home page & watch the vid i have on senator Kucinich

I'm not Canadian myself but I just read Jessabelle303's comment and she said that Canada's growing population is what's making it worse. If that's the case, than the United States, with a population of at least three times of Canada would have a serious problem with socialized medicine.

I'm also tired of people saying it's not socialized because it is. Anything government run is socialized. PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE SOCIALIZED!

Canada here..

The issue about wait time is true, but completely unrelated. It's because our population is growing faster then we can train doctors. It's a problem with our medical school system (which are private, btw)...

Also the wait time is not NEARLY as bad as they make it out to be.

We love our system. It costs us way less then yours because we don't have the greedy middle man insurance companies taking all the money that should go directly to doctors. Seriously, do it.
