A video slideshow of Queen Mary Tudor and her sister, Queen Elizabeth Tudor. I edited images with similar poses and complexion to place Mary and Elizabeth beside eachother throughout the video.

The music is called 'Midna's Suite' and can be found on http://www.zreomusic.com/

This is my favourite video so far, I have always admired Mary Tudor and her great love towards her sister Elizabeth. They were so similar and so different at the same time.

  • Beautiful slideshow... But, I think that at 0:30, on the left, is Margaret Tudor, queen of Scotland and the two princesses' aunt, on her childhood ^^

  • @AeroDeschain

The brooch that the sitter wears represents the Holy Roman Empire, Charles V, who a child, Mary's age. was bethrothed to.

If you are interested in known images of Margaret Tudors, I have a vid of her also. =)

  • She was mostly illiterate. And Id like to say I have no 'malicious' thoughts towards her, just surprised that you or indeed anyone could admire her more thanAnne.

Now Katherine is definatley deservedof admiration, however even still Id have to say anne pips her. Just because of what she accomplished, when Katherine was born to be Queen. And the love she inspired in Henry, and how controversial she was, and the dignity with which she died. So many reasons.

    Exciting, alluring, truly remarkable.

  • Do you know why I think we dont agree? You seem to judge people on ALLEGED kindness and virtue. And whilst these are admirable qualities, I respect intelligencce, creativity, ambition, achievment, change and controversion. Anne also had raw sexual magnetism, a scholars mind and was the most graceful woman at court.

There is no amount of kindness to stepchildren or obedience to the King, that can change mine or many respected historians mind. This is why she is so alluring, even till this day..

  • Queen Mary is Bloody Mary but she didnt show up in peoples mirrors. She was called BLOODY Mary because she killed non-cathlic people. She killed them in a-well.. disturbing way.

  • This people were ugly even Henrry that was fat they should of chose ugly people to play on the Tudors not all of good looking actors and beutiful actress

  • sorry for all these posts, I just wanted to show to the ones who judge Anne why she was the best wife of all Henry's six wives, and why, also, nowadays, she is still considered one of the most important Queen consort of history. And everything I've posted are only "copy and paste", but there many other achievements she made during her short reign.

    Queen Anne Forever!!!

  • She became the victim of a public hate campaign, mobilized by KoAs supporters;in 1531,a crowd of 8000 women marched through the streets of London in an attempt to lynch her.At the time of her execution, public sympathy lay with her and not Henry.Annes household of 250 were disbanded, before the trial verdict and within 3 weeks JS was installed as queen and many returned to serve the new queen. However, the Queens Mistress of the Wardrobe,Lady Margaret Lee,went into retirement rather than serve Jane.

  • Anne was almost certainly the only wife of Henry with a particular interest in architecture, which she shared with her husband. Building plans for Whitehall Palace were sent to Henry and Anne for approval and interestingly Henry allowed her a significant say in decorations. She never lived to see the building work completed.

    CONT

  • - Anne was the wealthiest of all Henry's wives, including Katherine of Aragon and Henry lost a lot of money to her playing cards.

    - Anne played an enormous role in England's international position, by solidifying the French alliance. She established an excellent rapport with the French Ambassador, de la Pommeraye, who was captivated by her.

    CONT

  • No heretics were burned during her tenure as queen, and in fact, she saved the life of one Nicholas Bourbon. Anne is probably the only person to have ever said "no" to the King's advances, which made her a challenge when he first encountered her. When Anne was created the first Marchioness of Pembroke in 1532, she became the first female English commoner ennobled in her own right, without inheritance or marriage, and at the time became the most prestigious non-royal woman in the land.

    CONT

  • SHE GAVE MORE MONEY TO POOR IN 3 YEARS THAN KoA DURING HER ENTIRE REIGN OF MORE THAN 20.She even sewed clothing with her own hands to distribute to the poor & personally tended to the ill on her travels.Cromwell wanted Church revenues poured into the Kings depleted coffers;she preferred the money be distributed to the poor and educational resources. When she and Henry went on their summer progress she spent more time than Henry inquiring as to the state of the religious houses, offering aid.

    CONT

  • The Pope paid spies to steal Henrys love letters to his fiancée, Anne, to prove that they were lovers. However, no evidence could be uncovered and even the Pope had to admit that all impartial evidence suggested she was strong-willed, but morally upright. Henry wrote at least 17 love letters to Anne, in his own hand. She convinced Henry that Bible should be translated into the vernacular and be available to the common people and not only clerical intermediaries;she also had al French Bible.

    CONT

  • Apart from KoA, Anne was the only one of Henrys subsequent wives 2 have a coronation.

She is the only consort, before or since, to have been crowned with the St Edward crown, which is reserved for the actual monarch.

Anne supported and defended the censored writing of religious reformers, but retained elements of traditional Catholicism (transubstantiation) in her private worship. Her primary concern was purging the Church of abuses and superstitions.
