@imsljr420 and scorer, that is all that matters. Besides, Nash has no clutch. Kobe knows how to win, Nash does not. Sorry. Nash fans think their player is the best since Jordan, sorry, Nash won two MVP's at a time when Shaq was aging, Garnett aging, Duncan aging, Iverson floating around, Kidd aging, Malone and Stockton gone, Kobe on a team that was sub par, there was not much to choose from. The award is given based on your teams record, that is pathetic. That is not MVP its MVT
@imsljr420 The face of the NBA is who the media the commissioner want it to be, it is calculated, fans don't determine who the face is. Yes, Kobe's jersey was selling more than Nash's, but it's no coincidence the minute Kobe has his best scoring season (CO incident) is the year he is totally ignored. He was ignored man. Kobe is a better scorer than Nash, that is not debatable, sorry. Yes Nash is a better passer, floor leader, dribbler, sure, but Kobe is a better defender
@RyZombie619 : ok no doubt this will upset you because kobe fans always seem to think only kobe can do the things he does. defensive skills obviously kobe was better but offensives skills ball handling/dribbling & footwork nash was just as good if not slightly better than kobe..his play making was better than kobe's...nash was scoring on big guys with his footwork getting them out of position....& go back and re-read my comment on kobe's 81 pt game.
@RyZombie619 : well i think you're the only laker fan that realize luke walton was actually good at one time like you said he was better then than he is now...in 04 finals game 2 kobe hit the game winner but if not for luke they wouldn't even be in that situation to win. shaq said "we had guys that played with me for yrs & they still don't know how to get me the ball then we have this rookie who knows when & where to get me the ball".
@RyZombie619 : efficiency & win shares shows what the player did to help his team win, that's why i use it as an argument....i won't use rebounds or assist because those all depend on the situation.
@RyZombie619 : Bullshit nash was never the face of the NBA...to be the face or main marketing guy your jerseys and/or shoes have to sell...no one was buying nash merchandize..it was still about kobe, t-mac, iverson, shaq those were the main guys especially shaq.
@imsljr420 was just as poor as the one Kobe played against. Besides, Wilt was the tallest guy out there by far, so if you want to make the case that Kobe's 81 points wasn't that great, how was Wilt's 100 that great then? I just think you are wrong on MVP, that is all. Kobe was a better player skills wise. I don't see how that is debatable.
@imsljr420 around him better. And going back to that 81 point game, it doesn't matter who he played against. The fact is he was hitting shots that were unmakeable for most NBA players, and it's not like there was no D on him at all, they had a hand in his face for most of those 3's he took. Also, Wilt's 100 points isn't that impressive, after all, he was only a couple feet from the hoop for all his points and he didn't have to worry about 3 in the key, and the D he was playing against
@imsljr420 Rondo would get 10 or more assists in many games, at one game he had 20 assists, so yeah Rondo was an assist machine, so like you said with Skiles, he had one game of 30 assists, well if that is MVP worthy than Rondo would get the MVP. That was my point, clearly you didn't get it. I think Kobe made players around him better, although Walton sucked, he was much better back then than he is now. Odom became a better player because of Kobe. So I think Kobe does make players
@imsljr420 Nash was a clean cut guy that could be a role model and the face of the NBA, I think that is a major reasons why he won back to back MVP's. Efficiency in win shares and all that really means nothing, stats are important but not EVERY stat is important. You also have to watch the player and see what they are doing on the court, you can't just go to your computer screen and bring up the stats and say "oh well he deserves MVP because he has more win shares"
