  • "I think the people, the people who tend to be more isolationist than me are the people who criticize me for being isolationist."

  • Just imagine if the United States had intervened during WWII before the Pearl Harbor attack. Had our military been deployed in Europe, we would have had no way to defend ourselves against an invasion from the Pacific. Now with 900 bases in 130 countries, how in the world can we expect to defend ourselves in the event of a REAL attack (I'm not talking about terrorism at all) while half our military is deployed in other parts of the world and our whole country is bankrupt sustaining ILLEGAL wars?!

  • Isolationism is the policy or doctrine of isolating one's country from the affairs of other nations by declining to enter into alliances, foreign economic commitments, international agreements, etc., seeking to devote the entire efforts of one's country to its own advancement and remain at peace by avoiding foreign entanglements and responsibilities.

  • Non-interventionism is a foreign policy which holds that political rulers should avoid alliances with other nations, but still retain diplomacy, and avoid all wars not related to direct self-defense. This is based on the grounds that a state should not interfere in the internal politics of another state, based upon the principles of state sovereignty and self-determination.

  • @TheChoujinVirus en(dot)wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/Non-interventionism

  • @syiunshi

but isn't that STILL Isolationism? And that Non-interventionism died out since WWI?

  • @TheChoujinVirus Yeah but there are things in the definition of Isolationism that do not apply to Dr. Paul's foreign policy. He advocates Non-intervention, while others who seek to ruin him use the term isolationism strictly meaning protectionism, which is precisely what his policy DOES NOT support.

  • Isolationist: Slur thrown out by sheet wearers who resent that you don't hate foreigners enough.

  • Sorry Paul, Isolationism is Isolationism, no matter the title

  • The media spreads the lie that he's an isolationist. TV only people will mostly hear lies about Ron Paul. If the people who see America's problems do not reach out to these folks...the socialists may win.
