Demonstration of American morse code used on all railroads in north America
since first invented by Samuel F B Morse. I was using a pristine Vibroplex bug made about 1996 This is different than CW Marconi ham radio code...If anyone wants to send a free telegram to another UTube user I will be happy to send it in Morse code. Best regards Lee Mason

  • I am a ham operator, KJ4FDV Trey, and have a long interest in railroading, and that video fascinates me. I would love to see some more videos of a full message, maybe a train order or clearance. Man, it sounds like a world of difference from copying an international code station with a speaker. One advantage of the railroad code- you can't learn to copy it by counting dots and dashes; you have to copy by ear. And that is GOOD. hihi

  • I will put an actual train order on here, hopefully next week. The train order that my dad copied many times went like this ' No 6 eng 5140 meet no 5 eng 5141 at Hanley' Two passenger trains met at Hanley SK at 1423 and were almost always on time. Best regards Lee Mason my last operating job was Kamloops BC CPR

  • as a former morse code operator in the army it still fascinates me listening to code.... great job. i was able to copy 25 gpm to 30 gpm. the morse code was not cherry code. it was much harder because we copied chinese, russian, and east germany, at the time of the cold war.

  • I put another one on yesterday Leebm29

  • Are you going to put more Morse code on youtube? I find it interesting

  • Yes I will if anyone is interested, just email me.Tell me if you have a special message that you would like to hear in Morse code. Leebm29

  • Very interesting.

I would have liked to see you get that old Vibroflex a' clicking with some real speed; without the spoken word subtitles.

Let's see what you can do Sparky, Hhumm??...Why don't you put a little grease on it!

Don't mind about the mistakes, we'll never know.
