Trip to Minneapolis 2008 (Wading into Lake Superior)

This video segment of my first vacation in 8.1 years involves me stepping about a foot into Lake Superior. The wind is quite strong here, drowning out any other sounds, so I left the sound out. I wanted to do this with the Mississippi River, but couldn't get to it. The water was rather cold, but wavy water like this is my top favorite. I wished I could've gone swimming, but at that cold temp, wading was the only worthy thing.

It's very close to Duluth actually. The main trip was to the Minneapolis area and is where I spent nearly all of my time.

Overcoming your fear?

Overcoming my fear? What, did you time warp back to July of 1997? The water one was done way back in July of 1997, roughly 423 million seconds (13 1/2 years) ago. I still do have a fear with water... but only very deep water where I can't touch bottom (this is a more natural kind of thing), considering I otherwise can't swim (if 0.2 mph is anything).

I still otherwise know what to do when I end up in water deeper than I am tall - just float. It's the only thing I can do that doesn't use much energy (I have very low stamina so I exhaust easy).

i don't know if you still want to wade in the mississippi river or not, but after having lived near the river for two years i would strongly suggest you not do so. the water is pretty gross, man.
