On July 15, 2011, Me and Adam (CSX6000, PennRailVideos) took a trip to Lancaster County for a day on the Strasburg Railroad, in celebration of four years on YouTube for me. The Steam Locomotive for this day was Norfolk an Western Class M 4-8-0 #475, equipped with a 12 inch whistle. We rode the train and captured him at several different locations along this scenic 4 1/2 mile long railroad in Amish land. Also seen is High Speed Amtrak along the Keystone Corridor, at locations like Irishtown Road, Leaman Place, and Gap. Even bigger a surprise is Strasburg SW8 8618 bringing empty reight cars to Leaman Place for NS to pick up, and then returning. I hope you enjoy this video, and thanks for four successful years of railfanning on YouTube!

  • Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @trainfann1 Thanks!

  • Hey Dan, just catching up on your videos. This one is fantastic; you got some great shots!

  • @CPManJoe Thank you very much, Joe!

  • I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Strasburg is a mecca for railroad enthusiasts (such as myself), with the Strasburg Railroad, the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, the Toy Train Museum (which is also the headquarters of the Train Collector's Association), the shops at Traintown, and the Red Caboose Motel.

  • @Stussmeister It's a great area to be in!

  • Very Nice Thank You

  • My 3yr old loves trains. He took a ride on the Strasburg one and as we were watching the video he told me what was going to happen next. He also took the Western Md train to Frostburg. He loved that too. He especially loved the turntable. Forget Thomas and the cartoon trains...he LOVES the real ones.

  • do you remember a drew?

    if so .......hi

  • @trainutjob, indeed, indeed. I also like the area because Lancaster County is where my grandmother lives, and it's always nice to visit her and see trains on the way up from the suburbs of Philadelphia (where I live).
