Build tremendous grip strength and your forearms doing exercises like the wide grip plate pinch. You'll develop strong thumbs and fingers crucial to swinging a bat for power.

If you haven't done much pinch gripping it will feel hard at first. Start with two 25lbs plates and make sure you turn the plates together, so that the smooth sides of the plates are facing outward.

Before progressing to one hand and more difficult variations, test your strength and endurance by plate pinching for at least 45 seconds while swinging the plates back and forth.
