Created for my Introduction to Electronic Mass Media class as part of a presentation. Rather than force the class to sit through all ten minutes of "The Great Train Robbery" from 1903, I pieced together this trailer which gives an idea of the film's flavour ... and which pokes a little bit of good natured fun at the era too. And yes, the current motion picture technology that Edison was using at the time really was called "the projecting Kinetoscope." Fun stuff.
That's the first movie ever.

It's curious, they shot to the air because the fire was real.

really? to FORCE the class to sit through WHOLE TEN MINUTES of one of the most important piece of filmmaking in cinematic history? have we gotten so disgustingly irreverent and attention deprived that one feels he he's justified in butchering the film in a minute long 'trailer' that misses the entire point of the original piece? really? so very sad...
