That was stupid to rev a rebuild motor. You better hope you didn't fuck up the rings.

So silly. Starting a car with the window wipers off, how will you see? Also the cars going to run out of oil because you have it on a lean and it will drip out of the inlet manifold. Man u guys are silly, I know everything about cars and I comment on heaps of posts, because I am cool.

Nostalgic overload, man. Almost as much as last week when I tested my mettle at a friendly game of blurry grandma. The results of the challenge proved inconclusive. "SMOKE LIKE A SIEVE." If all my fingers were fully opposable, I'd give that statement 11 thumbs up.

shouldve raced the gt vs the 300zx.

whats the other one?

Good job on the car

@DaKnightFall youre dumb. if that was the case, all cars that go up hills would starve for oil and fail constantly on slopes.

2 rival cars right next to each other lol nice
It's amazing how proud people can be of being so ignorant.

We were mostly proud that it *started*, because considering our ignorance, it probably shouldn't have. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have egged him on about revving it, but who's to say it would make a difference; this engine ran strong as a daily driver for over a year, then he sold the car for something cheaper.

Shurahaidate, walrusowner's talking about the lifters that are tapping, not changing over to 99 lifters. You can hear that they didnt do anything to the lifters and they are tapping. Also, on your first start up, the engine hasnt spread the oil all over itself, so it isn't a good idea to start reving right off. let it run for a while, then rev.

The lifters should have been replaced, but weren't due to time/money constraints. He needed his car back together ASAP, so there were probably many things that should have been done, but weren't.
This is definitely NOT a guide to proper startup & break-in, just a video of a couple of guys having finally made a bunch of parts on the garage floor into a running car again. :)

how about, stupid to run a first start motor on jack stands where the engine cant pickup oil from the pan. lol

Yeah, that probably should have been taken into consideration too, though at that little bit of an incline I doubt it was an issue.
