Hiroshima Nuclear (atomic) Bomb - USA attack on Japan (1945)

During the final stages of World War II in 1945, the United States conducted two atomic bombings against the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, the first on August 6, 1945 and the second on August 9, 1945. These two events are the only active deployments of nuclear weapons in war to date.

@happagirl34 If America didn't use the atomic bombs the other option was an invasion which would have been worse than both the bombs. American casualties would have been 1 million minimum and Japanese civilians would have also died in the millions. "The USA wasn't thinking when they did this they were just trying to get revenge." Please, truman had sent the Japanese a warning to surrender or suffer complete and utter devastation did they listen, no they simply ignored the warning.

so many innocent people died. My aunt's arm was ruined. my grandpa was a farmer and saw it happening. The USA wasn't thinking when they did this they were just trying to get revenge.

@FifasFinestMw2King I would not jump to the conclusion that these likes were aimed at glorifying destruction. For instance I would like this video objectively for it's ability to educate people on the gravity of the destructive impact this bomb had on this land and its people to a lesser extent ( other videos are more introspective with more interviewees). I came here because I was curious about the square mileage that was affected. I think war is awful but educating oneself is commendable.

@CaesarOfTheMasses If we did not use the bomb the other option was an invasion which would have costed at least 1 million american lives minimum and there also would have been a lot more civilian casualties than both atom bombs put together. Look I am truly deeply sorry for the civilians that died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But the bombs that were used, whether you like it or not is justified.

ITS funny how the men who caused it started feeling sad after it, knowing they killed but it was too late, this video made me cry because i understood that during world war 2 japan were evil and deserved punishment but i didnt expect all those inncoent people down there to die, did america really have to unleash the only atomic bomb ever used in world war on a country that didnt even start the war. i think its funny how germany started the war (no offence) and japan got the ultimate punishment

The use of atomic weapons can NEVER be justified. What the US did 66 years ago is boarding on a War Crime and nothing anyone says can ever condone such a blatant act of needless destruction. Many people condemn Hitlers orders to bomb British Civilians, but when they look at Hiroshima the fact that tens of thousands of Japanese Civilians died is conveniently forgotten? I'm sorry but that is simple hypocrisy. There are no two ways about it.

Ok I guess two wrongs do make a right. The Japanese tried to end the war. They sent a telegram but the Americans said they did not receive it. I'm actually on the side of america but I think the bomb was unnecessary. They should have just used it as a threat
