2008 Mini Cooper S. This is awhile ago, so I can't recall the exact temps, if I had to guess it was about 30-40 degrees Farenheit.
This has since been resolved through the known tensioner fix, though, SIM 11 02 07. Thanks for posting or I would have forgotten to update. If you have this problem do not hesitate to pay your MINI dealership a visit!

ummmmm diesel? sounds like a diesel? sounds like crap actually....what year car and what temp outside?

Take it to the dealer, there is a Puma code to fix. They change the tensioner and ecu, no more rattling! I had it for 6 months!
