  • Blows my mind how far we've come in such a short time. And to think that this technology will be outdated by the time my 3 year old daughter is my age. Amazing.

  • How (the fuck) do you dislike this?

  • @ozzfestveteren666 Actually, we already know a lot about the surface of Mars (Which you think the Sky Crane will some how helps us learn more?) The rover, is scanning the "rock" for mineral evidence of water and life on that plant, and may be also dating it.

  • @ERIC59Roblox And what will sending man back to the moon achieve? Short of a dangerous mission that we've already done 12 times.

  • @ozzfestveteren666 You're all wrong. Just the amount of fuel required to "fly around mars on a mapping mission" for even half a day weighs nearly as much as the entire sky crane. And, those "pics of some dumb rock", if you didn't realize, aren't "pics" at all, it's an highly sophisticated device scanning for bacteria, minerals, and other things. Finally, we've ALREADY mapped mars, in 2001. It was called "Odyssey". themis(dot)asu(dot)edu/about

    Do your homework dude.

  • Great Video and gives a great insight into the possibilities based upon the technical creativity of the Human Being!

  • WAKE UP PEOPLE the mission isn't just about the rover, it's about the sky crane...what they're not telling you is sky crane can fly around mars on a mapping mission while all the attention is on the rover taking pics of some dumb rock. Think about it, a jet fighter drops bombs but it doesn't just go crash somewhere. Sky crane is the real "secret toy" for nasa scientists. They will learn more in a day with the sky crane than they will ever learn from that stupid rover. A lie before our eyes.

  • @craigenputtock photon torpedoes....really? all thats gonna do is blind somebody :) the solar sail is our best bet we have so far when in comes to traveling great distances

  • this will not likely work. it is too old fashion. nasa should put their money into matter/anti-matter engines that will go into warp speed and also defenses such as photon torpedos in case hostil alien life is encountered. as someone who has studied space travel I can tell you that Nasa is way behind the times!

  • I small move for a robot. I giant move for the Illuminati.
