Repainted A-10 Thunderbolt for our Iron Angels movie. All that work and Final Flight looks like. One of the motors went seized up for unknown reason. Sooo, I guess Its time to get a BRUSHLESS A-10 Version.

The Thunderbolt is from Banana Hobby, has 2 brushed motors and I switched it over to the Spektrum Ar6100 receiver and put a 3Cell 2200mah LIPO in her.

Pilot: Robert Griffin
Cameraman: Nic
Plane: A-10 Thunderbolt II EDF Fighter Jet
TX: DX7
RX: AR6100
Power: TP 2200mah 3cell LIPO

  • How was your customer service experience with Bananahobby?

  • @mamatalu : I emailed you! ~~Robert.

  • It sounds like the main shaft is not connecting to the brushes inside the motor. Brushless motors should not make that noise.

  • @JetFlyyer : The dead motor was Brushed. I have since switched it to brushless motors. Thanks for commenting.

  • I will not buy any plane that has a brushed motor!

  • @anderman72 : Yeah, kind of pointless nowadays. If it's brushed, you have to wonder just how cheap is the whole plane, because brushless motors are dirt cheap now. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • oh I bought a 159 brushless a-10 from bananacrap. Needless to say it didn't even fly and tech support wasn't helpful.

  • Get the Brushless Version ONLY. The difference in price is about $20. The Brushed Version is EXTREMELY hard to fly. It took every bit of flying experience I had to fly and keep it going and going. Then the motors crap out. The Brushless version is still going strong.

  • Hay Great Flying. I'm thinking of getting this as my first plane. How long did you have the A-10 before it crapped out?

  • I would have to replace motors and ESCs, would cost $75 roughly. I can get a whole new plane for $129. Brushless installed! I will keep this plane around for that day Im bored. Perhaps then try fixing it.

If she was brushless already, this would be a different tune.
