By Garnet Hertz (2005) "Cockroach Controlled Mobile Robot" is an experimental mechanism that uses a living Madagascan hissing cockroach atop a modified trackball to control a three-wheeled robot. If the cockroach moves left, the robot moves left. Infrared sensors also provide navigation feedback to the cockroach, striving to create a pseudo-intelligent system with the cockroach as the CPU.

  • The idea is indeed futuristic and innovative, but after watching this video only one thing comes into my mind; it doesn't work.

  • I have a giant fear of cockroaches and you're teaching them how to drive? Fuck you...

  • Why does this have so many dislikes? This is a pretty interesting video.

  • they can drive better than a women...

  • Some YouTubers are so stupid that I am surprised they know how to work a computer

  • I would have expected a science demo vid to attract more intelligent commenters, but alas.
