What a great record this is! It's available on cd, but only in a version that sounds like it's a mono fold-down of the stereo mix....perhaps if ACE records in the UK decides to do a 4th volume of Phil's Spectre, they can include this song, in stereo, because it deserves to get out there in the original single version! I don't know if the UK single was mono, but the U.S. version (at least in promo form, i've never seen a stock copy) was stereo! I have no idea who Alison Wonder was, but i can bet that wasn't her real name. I also think this record came out a few years too late! This wasn't a hit sound in 1971 but it would've been in 1966! Ah well, it's still a great record regardless...I hope you dig it half as much as i do! You can hear great records like this one live every night on www.topshelfoldies.com!

  • Alison Wonder was Never out of the News in Britain. She was better Known as Cheryl Barrymore, The Wife of British Comedian Michael Barrymore. Michael was an Alchoholic and Gay. Their Disintigrating Marriage Made The Newspaper Headlines for Years in Britain. Alison/Cheryl Died of Lung Cancer in 2005.

  • Amazing.....thanks for the information....sorry to hear she's no longer with us....did she make any other records besides this one?

  • Sounds a bit like "Don't Worry Baby", this is great! Greenaway and Cook obviously liked "feeling" songs (e.g "The Same Old Feeling" by The Fortunes).

  • Yeah i agree.....i love this record!

  • yes!I hear the BBS in here too!

  • ..NICE!!!........

  • This is so funny that it was on the first UK "Dream Babes" of the series I got years ago (still my favorite of all of those released) and yes, I put this on a compilation project right alongside "Don't Worry Baby" by the Beach boys on a set called "Twin Tunes and Separated at Birth"! I made with a friend! :-)
