Military Officials Searched In Ergenekon Probe

As the details of the Ergenekon probe continues to unfold, some active duty military officials in the GATA military have been searched.

As many as 40 locations were searched and now investigators believe the number of people in custody will increase.

Simultaneous operations in five provinces including Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir have been conducted as part of the ongoing Ergenekon investigation.

Civil officers working in GATA military hospital were detained. The prosecutors of the Ergenekon case conducted searches in the homes of the colonels from the navy.

Meanwhile, the office of the lawyer of the Ergenekon detainee Colonel Levent Goktas was also searched for two hours. Many documents and a personal computer have been confiscated for evidence.

In Foca, Izmir an official was taken into custody. The woman previously attempted to take her voice recorder to the naval base. She is still being tried by the military court.
