Jam session at Long Beach Funk festival August 28, 2009. Dawn, former singer with Sly Stone, Charlie Wilson and Funkadelic, brought together an all-star funk band, featuring veterans from Sly and the Family Stone and Funkadelic. What can I say. She rocked the house. Sorry this video could not have been more crisp.

  • Yeah, this is not the P Funk All Stars, and it's Dawn Silva with one v. But they sure did drop the bomb, didn't they?

  • Mandrill was good but when Silva and company left so did the people. Fans for Silva came out in droves. Pockets of 300 or more watched there fav band throughout the day, Mandrill too had 300 or so. Dawn Silva had 10 thousand or more. frankly I'm surprised that there wasn't any magor press coverage on her show. Probably the best entertainment in years.

  • This and Mandrill killed it!!!

  • This seems to be the niche that fits you Dawn. It ALWAYS works in Europe, here and wherever you take your bad soulful self.

You were a big part of that whole FUNK legacy. (obviously, you STILL are.)

You are amazing. But, I've always known that....right?

Good to see you on a stage doing your thing, my kick ass LADY of the stage.

     eddie myers

  • Oh and Weapons of Choice Lonnie Marshall was on stage, where'd he get that funk from? Surprised? Hell yea, cause I wasn't going, man I'm happy I did. Oh, and 2 more funky guitarist, one very hot and female. That drummer`was the sheeeet, vocals keyboards, it was all happening. I want MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's not the P-funk All Stars - Its Dawn Silva with one (V) and guest musicians, BlackByrd McKnight and Sly's horn section. I was waiting for someone to post something on this spectaular performance. I was there all day, and saw only 2 authenic funk acts. Slap Back and Dawn Silva. Her show was probably the best funk show I ever seen and when she finished funking up the 6 or 7 thousand funkateers in attendance, they were full. Only a few huundred were left to see the last act, Mandrill

  • btw it was Saturday August 29

  • Go Dawn! And what a band!
