Dryer vs. Sparkler Bomb (500)

I made this sparkler bomb containing 500 sparklers and 13 rolls of electrical tape in October of 2007 and waited until I got my hands on something to use it on. In December of 2008, my dryer crapped out and I absconded with it to my friend's farm, where in January of 2009, I blew the sh*t out of it. I figured it was a fitting celebration of our day off from school on Martin Luther King Day. If only every day off of school was this exciting...

what did you use for the wick? and so all u really did was snip the sparklers, put a wick in the middle, wrap it with a few layers of electric tape, light it?

@khuntangta I used visco fuse, commonly known as cannon fuse. It's basically a string of gunpowder wrapped in string for strength and a waterproofer. And yes, except I used 13 rolls of electrical tape haha you pretty much have to tape the shit out of it :) and if you're gonna make one, make sure you put a lot of tape around where the fuse comes out because thats where it usually fails

ok so next time wrap it in tape first then put it in concrete and let it dry for a day , then light it

@Jonhny2 Haha thanks for the advice, but I know what i'm doing :) i know all about how containment is the key to a good sparkler bomb (btw, the colored sparkler theory is a myth, they both work fine, I use gold sparklers in all of my bombs and they are incredibly potent), and I know I probly could do it with 200 or 300, I just wanted to see how powerful the blast would be with a thousand. And it was awesome. But two of the video files were corrupted so that's why I haven't posted the vid =x

You don't need that many (1000) sparklers. What's also important is the containment. If containment is good (allowing more of the sparklers to burn and more pressure), it's possible to blow up a fridge or dryer with a rather small no. of (colored) sparklers. Look at v=8ZBTGZ1yMJ4 for a case of a sparkler bomb with very poor containment. It produced only a huge flare.
