Sydney's shining sun and beautiful architecture have already begun to welcome many pilgrims; We met a group of Spaniards who are preparing to welcome World Youth Day in their hearts with great faith.

We joined a large group of pilgrims at the wonderful sight of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. At our side we have Father Gabriel. Father, what do you think of Sydney?

"Well, we arrived on July 1 and to tell the truth the organizers of World Youth Day have welcomed us very well and we are very happy to be here. I believe we are among the first to have arrived and we will be participating as volunteers in the event. Sydney is a very impressive city, here on the other side of the world-- Spain is precisely on the other side. So after the long journey we were very warmly welcomed and, quite sincerely, we feel like we are at home."

Gabriela, what is the meaning of participating in the event as a volunteer?

"I suppose it is a great honor for a Christian, don't you think? For all of us to be gathered here and to help is basically the reason for volunteering."
"The catholicity of the Church, the universality of the Christian Faith."

Join us and enjoy!!!
