I'm now over 50+ I learned from my dad Old Norwegian when turning you should not see light between your legs ? I ski on 200 Solomon Xscreams good for you a few more years and your a super senior many places you can get free lift tickets.

I learned to ski this way from the Austrians and now that I am 69 and skiing only a few days a year it is way too tiringjfor me with my 185 Solomon Xscreams, I am 5'6 can I get a shorter all mt. ski that will not require me to go wider but feel much better?

it is a shame that these techniques are underrated these days.

especially when seeing many skiers rely only on carving.

We call it, us the French, "la godille", old french expression as well as "old school" from the 70's to the middle of the 80's.There are a lot of technical expressions as la godille de base, godille affinée, godille perfectionnée, godille experte, etc...But nowadays it seems forgotten...This is belongs to the past, I thought. Dommage !
