A piece of reality, that's all I can say. If you're a troubled women and you have money, then you're safe, somehow. But if you don't have money, reality will show you how things work. Human beings never do anything if they're not going to get something in return.

In horror movies when a monster kills one after another victim and survives like 7 death attempts I see that more like fiction than horror. While I was watching this movie I felt like I was watching a horror movie, like something really bad could happen any minute to these poor women. I really loved this movie. I know this is not your standard American movie it has that slow pace European cinema verite thing going on but you have to watch it like a sommelier tasting wine. You'll enjoy it

Probably the most exciting film I've ever seen. I can't help watching it again and again and I can't find any mistake in the film. Psychologicly true, its symbolic and aesthetic is amazing. For eastern-european people (I am from Hungary) it's easier to understand.

I don't understand why this film received such high critics. Trying not to fall asleep while watching this was a challenge for me. Can't even finish the whole movie.

You can clearly tell that Otilia was upset with the situation--she cried beforehand and, although she wasn't distraught afterward like Gabita, she dealt with it by being stonefaced. You can tell later in the movie during the dinner scene that her head was swarming with thoughts of her disturbing evening.
