We wanted to see how much resistance the parachutes added to a sprinter - we laser tested a 20 yard sprint with no resistance at a 3.11 and with the parachutes attached the 20 yard sprint went to a 3.34, 3.44, and 3.37. The conclusion was that the parachute sprints added perfect resistance to keep the athlete still "full speed" and slowing him down to much. If we would have slowed him down any more then it wouldnt have been speed training but more power training.
