They made Chain-Chomp able to be stunned by Bob-ombs on purpose. If they didn't, the game would freeze. This has also been out for a long time. I'm not really sure it's a glitch.

the reason the chain-chomp "glitches" or stops is so you can pound on the pole that holds him down, freeing him so you can get the star.
