I weep when I listen...

I have loved this song since Joni Mitchell first wrote and recorded it. But; Diana Krall's version is better, much better. Many people have someone, this song applies to; past or present.

I am a huge Joni fan who, unpredictably, does not like "Blue", except for "This Flight Tonight" and "The Last Time I Saw Richard". But this version of "Case" is transformative. Diana Krall's unique piano arrangement brings poignancy to Joni's ill-considered dulcimer folksiness. Joni would have done better to but this one on the piano like Diana so masterfully has.

When I first heard this, I stopped, got up, walked out into the dark living room and listened to it from beginning to end. The only other song I've heard that begins to compare is Kenny Chesney's bluesy little Somewhere With You - both are higher than Mount Everest. The best. The very best. Hats off to song writers and performers who strive for this . . . every day.
This song is incredible. Makes u stand still and forget everything around u.
