These are the longest highlights I've been able to find of this classic, show-stopping match. Two great sides put on an unforgettable performance of attacking football in this unforgettable match. Commentary by Martin Tyler and Andy Gray, including the famous "Collymore closing in!!!".

  • COLLEYMORE CLOSING IN!!!!!

  • What a match, keegans reaction, the commentary, the goals, one of the best pl matches ever

  • I don't have any word to describe the excitement of this match...YNWA

  • @TheSaltsinNZ - Are you kidding? Hot head David 'pile of crap' James comes rushing off his goal line to leave Asprilla with the simple task of flickig the ball past him! Easiest goal of the night more like lol. The best goal was Fowler's second. Ball coming across his body and hitting it first time with the outside of his left foot. Technically very difficult to pull off, but that's why they called him God lol

  • david james is so crap! glad we got rid of this heap of shit!

  • Fuck you Keegan. Cunt :)

  • No replay of Asprila's goal? The best goal of the night.

  • I'm a man city fan but i deeply respect liverpool ... unforgettable game

  • Best Game Ever : Liverpool vs Ac Milan 2005 Champions League Final Istanbul

  • @jazzx251 All regions of the UK had their own take on football. Scottish versions more resembled rugby. The closest version to modern-day association football was the Sheffield version - rectangular pitches, goals, goalkeepers, eleven players per team etc

Even today you can see these different variations played by public schools across the UK.

It wasn't until the 1860's that aspects of the regional variations were incorporated into the rules we see today. These rules were then adopted by FIFA.
