By far the most majestic spectacle of the entire Korea festival at Bozar: 60 musicians and dancers join forces for Confucian rituals in memory of the great kings of times past. Surrender to the prodigious vibrations of the ancient lithophones!

  • All Confucians are united around the world!

  • @Chichiri520 it's in fact vanished in the mainland China.

but look at Taiwan. she still remains some, both the

confucianists' and the buddhists' ceremonies and rituals

    live actively, particularly in Tainan.

  • @aznmessenjah

Thanks for the reply. Strange enough, I barely see or hear Chinese court music. I remember reading a book of Japanese music and it explained that certain rites of this tradition are preserved in Japan (and Korea) and have vanished in China.

  • @Chichiri520 A-ak and Gagaku are represented by the same Chinese characters ("Ya-yue" in modern Mandarin). Ancient Chinese court music survives through A-Ak and Gagaku,

  • This is amazing! Does anyone know if the Gagaku music of Japan has roots in A-ak?

  • Thanks a lot!That 's what I am searching for!
