the modern safety bicycle,2 wheels of equal size ,chain drive saddle over rear wheel front forks etc.just like the one you probably ride,invented by 2 sewing machine manufacturers from and in the city of coventry, possibly the most life changing invention since gutenbergs printing press.

Life-changing in most of the world, but around Chicago bicycles are few and far between! Still though, a fantastic invention. I'd still say the computer would be the most life changing invention since the printing press, or the car, (I'm not considering the Internet an invention though).

Incidentely the guy that invented the computer at bletchley park,went to work on a safety bicycle, so without it ther`d be no computers.
