@coandcaiv the biggest win is definitely the insight...so cheap and such good gas mileage. The Fit is kinda fail because it gets pretty crap mpg and it looks you will get killed in an accident. I want to get the insight for my first car. :)

i was wondering how a cvt had paddle shifters

@m46279 Wouldn't fare any worse than this shit box. The 88 got a 4 out of 5 (frontal crash), while this gets a 5 out of 5. One star is next to nothing, just a little bit more crumpling of the main cab structure. I'm willing to trade a little safety for a WHOLE lot more fun and sportiness (not to mention much better looks). besides, no matter what you're driving, if you get into a serious crash, you're fucked.

@salemcripple Good luck in a crash.

still ugly, and it still weighs a ton and likewise (i'm sure) handles like a Mack truck. I'll stick with my 88 civic thank you!

@coandcaiv i mean their ...lol

japan is the future of making cheap hybrid cars for everyone to buy. still is experimental but who knows what it come in 2-3 years !!

the epa tests vehicles how the average person would drive them

let's agree on one thing - the insight will get the same or even better mileage on the highway than the new prius and will get good mileage in the city. all hybrids get good mileage in the city (compared to petrol only vehicles)

There's no way to force the Insight to use electric-only at 0-15 mph, which is a shame, but understandable-- it would crawl on electric alone. It does, however, shut off the engine at a stop, and shut off the injectors under certain circumstances (like braking).
One of the status screens tells you precisely when it's using the battery, when it's charging, and when it's using the gas engine. I do wish they'd used a higher-res screen for this, but it's easily readable, so I'm not complaining.
hands down honda is the worlds best automaker...fit = win ..civic = win...accord = win.....there entire line up is very! good. im still putting around in a 1990 accord with 247,000 miles....cant seem to let it go lol, plus it feels like a lil go kart haha

Despite getting the 2010 Prius' higher mpg, the styling of the Honda Insight is much better and with its cheaper price point a better deal.
