Quit looking for what isn't there man! Nothing of what I stated is false or arrogant, just fact. I did not say you did not understand the complexities of our financial mess, I CORRECTLY stated that I DON'T KNOW if you do or not. I even clarified that it was the impression your comment gave that made me wonder if you may be just another nut saying down with the bailout when that would have been disaster. Also quit telling me I've chosen the wrong person, when you can just stop typing.

Uhhh, I do recognize the complexities of our current economic condition. I'm not sure why you've taken the arrogant tone that you have, nor if you're even aware of it. Nonetheless, and once again, you've chosen the wrong person for your sarcasm.

They thing about this situation is GOP was in on this package just as the democrats. The only difference was in public the GOP said Pilosi's office created the bill, which since once an article is put together "her office prints the document" so technically her office created it. The reason for their opposition is to save face politically. If it works, they will say it was because of their fight, and if it doesn't work they will say that is why they fought it in the first place. Par for GOP.

Maybe you have a real grasp on the complex reality of our economic situation, or maybe you don't. Does not really matter what either of us think anyway. The fact remains that without the steps taken already, we would be much, much worse off at this time. I have no issue with folks not liking the situation, or how it has been implimented, but you gave the impression you thought the idea itself is wrong, when it was absolutely needed or it's back to the breadlines. Many are clueless & pissed.

Wrong. The bailout should have been structured differently, with proper oversight for the use of public funds.
You're responding to the wrong person w/that kind of sarcasm.
-
Yeah, to hell with the bailout!! I was born far too late to see the breadlines in the last great depression. Now our chance to see how bad it really can get has been taken away because that "socialist bastard Obama is saving our economy? How dare that man interfer with the inner workings of our country. Who needs money, jobs, or healthcare for the sick? Dammit!! We should be huddled in tent cities right now, but nooo! Thanks to Obama in about a year we should be right back to normal.

Gergen is a republican and can you imagine trying
to tell Virgil Goode that the rescue plan is for pensions, 401K's, jobs & employment. "Socialism" "marxism"
"Wall St big-shots, NYC Godless bigwigs are the only economic terms Virgil knows. You've got followers of Pastor Hagee who are looking for the rapture & the 2nd
coming. Then you have reps on the left
who are more sophisticated but not by much.
They also don't care if the system tanks.
These ppl can go to hell!!!

Damned Republicans.
Too bad that the greedy idiots on Wall St. are so panicky that this mess caused the market to tumble for the worst drop in 20 years, but they deserve to lose every penny if they believe this bullshit MANUFACTURED CRISIS caused by Bush and Co. to give them even MORE power!

Finally Congress has some BALLS and voted against what Bush and Paulson wanted! This bill was ridiculous. Think of the Patriot Act for our economy. Yep, Section 8
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency. That's what Paulson wanted. I'm glad it failed.
