Reception of SWR2 Rheinland-Pfalz, Donnersberg, 92.0 mhz via meteor scatter, 13-8-07, 1935 local time, during the perseids meteor shower.
Distance 727 miles / 1171 km.
Signal was being reflected by an ionised trail left by a meteor burning up in the atmosphere.
The station is identified by the unique PI code of D4A2 which it broadcasts. This is the first part of RDS information to form so is very useful in identifying the source of short lived signals.
Receiver used was a Sony SB920 with a 4 element Yagi fed through a 20 db amp.
Please excuse the exclamation on the video - the signal really WAS very strong.
