  • I think these must be normal emotions for WLS folks, because I seem to be having them too. What hurts is the cooking, I taste as I cook (big no no! lol!) And I'm usually full by the time the dinner is done. Guess none of that this year! It's an adjustment for us, that's for sure. Let's pray for strength & try to realize it's only a few days out of the year and our benefits will be long term! Great video, thanks for sharing...it's nice to know I'm not the only one going thru this. Love Pat

  • @AdorableFatChic You are not alone. Never in this community. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • Robin you are not alone. I watched pwlsworks, one with banded Wendy. She gave a great suggestion. Take a tbsp or tsp of each item served. This will be a way to try everything. Of course, start with your protein first. If you dump off sweets, stay away. This is a way not to over indulge. Good luck. "When we fall we just get back up. Just don't stay down long"

  • @Sexacjun Thank you....Happy Thanksgiving.

  • First of all.... the further out you get, the more you'll be able to consume. Which is a bittersweet thing to think about. I can eat as much as any normal person. Which is okay with me... I've just learned to control myself more. But on ocassions like this... I won't hold back. Like you said, it's a free day. But just watch this video NEXT year, and I bet you'll be thinkig differently ;) LOL

  • @SarahWillBeSkinny Thank you Sarah. It's strange to think that I'll be able to eat normal ever again. But I've heard others say that too. But what is normal for most, was not what I was before surgery. I ate way to much. So I hope that "normal" is alot less than the old me. LOL If that makes sense. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • Yep, that grieving process hits us all at some point. It's different for us all. I remember that feeling all too well. I do still deal with it although the feelings arent as strong this year as they were the first year. Take super tiny bites and enjoy the taste in every bite. You can still enjoy your favorites, but you have to enjoy them more slowly than you're used to. *hugs*

  • Robin, I hear you on the stuffing, it is the best part. Shoot...it's all good huh? I so feel your pain. I think you and I both got our surgery just in time. I'm grateful too. That's what we both can be thankful for. Much Love!

  • @texasmom2011 Happy Thanksgiving.
