Mostly for my fellow FDP folks... I don't gig very often anymore. This is my Sonic Blue Warmoth Strat using the Harmonic Design Super 90 bridge pup & Vintage Plus middle/neck pups... along with a couple tone secrets... And I was using my new V-Pick Diamond guitar pick. Video made by my 10 year-old daughter hiding in the audience.

  • Sorry, me again. I have just discovered you today. Your sound is is is .... I'm finding no words to describe it. I will check out all your videos soon. You are a fantastic player. May I ask which country you're comming from?

  • @BigEdWo Hey thanx. I'm a lifetime USA resident, currently living in Atlanta Georgia. In this particular recording I have to admit to having some secret mojo working on my tone. It's a little passive filter that allows me to ride the fence between single coil and humbucker tone. The Strat is loaded with single coils though.

  • Thanks for the tip.

what do you think makes the guitar sound thin on my case? the ash body, maple neck or te Fender texas Specials?

Nice tone and nice playing too.

    Sorry about my English

  • It's likely a combination of all those things. But an ash body with a maple neck has always been a combination that results in a bright Strat. In such cases I will often play around with the electronics a bit to make it more playable. For example, many Strats come with a .022uF tone capacitor. Sometimes using a .047uF or even a .1uF tone cap is needed to get the right balance of highs. You can also connect the bridge pickup to a tone control if it isn't already. All are cheap mods that can help.

  • Nice tone!!

Do you think your hot gold duallys would fit to play this song too?

Im looking for a smooth and soft pickups, like Hendrix's hey joe tone.

I bought a cs texas special to put in my ash with maple neck strat, its turn such a garbage TO THIN sound I hated. What do you recomend me?

  • Oh yeah, Hot Gold Duallys fit this song really well. In fact, I have another video of this tune loaded on YT where I'm using my Dually loaded Strat. Check out my other videos. One thing that Hot Golds have in spades is a smooth even response.

  • Thanx. 500k volume pot and 250k tone pots with a .022uF tone cap. No effects, but a very modified amp. It's a 1982 Fender Concert 1x12 with the Torres mods and an alnico Weber California speaker.

  • Hey, this sounds Great! What pots/caps did you use for the Super 90? I'm thinking about getting one..Are you using any effects?

  • That's why Beck dedicated the tune to Roy Buchanan!

  • Honestly, you sound much better than Beck himself at his latest gigs.
